As of Dec 2025 - GPI Flowmec water meters capable of pulse output are out of stock.
The Sap Spy Water meter requires a Sap Spy Universal Node (sold separately)
A SapSpy Node keeps track of the total sap collected in a sugarbush at each electric releaser. The node tracks the total gallons or liters pumped at every 5 minute interval. Within the Sap Spy web app, we then calculate and visualize the following:
Total gallons for the season
Total gallons/tap for the season
Gallons/reading
Gallons/Hour
Gallons/Day
Gallons/Tap/Day
This data helps you track your total production for the season helping you optimize your operation. Data is maintained year over year for ongoing seasonal comparisons.
The following meters have been tested and work well with a Sap Spy metering node (sold separately). The prices listed here are competitive with purchasing direct from EKM or GPI directly as well as from other resellers. Purchasing from Sap Spy includes electrical connectors making it easy to connect to directly to the Sap Spy metering node.
If you already have a GPI flowmeter and would like to add the pulse counting functionality to it without swapping out the entire meter. Please reach out as that can be sold separately at a significant discount over purchasing directly from GPI.
This is an additional tank level sensor compatible with Sensor Hubs, Sensor Nodes and LED the sight glass. By default, each of these devices already comes with a tank level sensor. This item can be used to upgrade to an alternative style or as an add-on if you originally purchased without the tank level sensor.
Measure: Tank Level (0-100%) Vacuum Level (0-29.9 inHg) Temperature (degrees F)
We generally recommend the submersible style level sensor in all scenarios. The only disadvantage to the submersible is it is one more think to wipe down/clean when you clean your sap tanks.
The submersible sensor cable length is 15' and includes an extra 15' extension: 30' total.
The ultrasonic sensor cable length is 15' total and by default does not include an extension.
The only scenario you'd want to use the ultrasonic sensor is for open top tanks using an electric releaser.
Vacuum Sensor - Digital
Regular price
$90.00
This vacuum sensor provides a digital signal to the multi-port common sensor node. This allows you to connect 1, 2 or 3 sensors up to a single sensor node to provide a more cost effective monitoring solution for your sugarbush.
This vacuum sensor is compatible only with the multi-port common sensor nodes. It is not compatible with other sensor nodes or with sensor hubs.
Measure: Vacuum Level (0-29.9 inHg)
Pressure Sensor - Digital
Regular price
$200.00
This sensor provides a digital signal to the multi-port common sensor node.
This sensor is compatible only with the multi-port universal sensor node. It is not compatible with other sensor nodes or with sensor hubs.
Two options are available:
0 to 725 PSI: Commonly used to measure pressure of your RO to ensure it's running at a good range. Can also be used for transfer pumps to detect when a line is frozen and too much pressure is building
-14.5 to 14.5 PSI: Used as a tank level sensor for large silo style tanks. Can measure up to 33' tall. Is also used to measure the level of a vacuum style tank when combined with a vacuum sensor at the top of the tank.
Magnetic Reed Switch - Pulse counting module
Regular price
$30.00
This magnetic reed switch is designed to work seamlessly with the Sap Spy pulse counting sensor node. It is frequently utilized in the sugarbush to keep track of dump cycles on a mechanical releaser. In the Sap Spy app, you can input the amount of gallons per dump cycle (pulse) to easily monitor your overall gallons per hour and day, as well as estimate your total gallons for the season. This is an option for those using a mechanical releaser in the sugarbush.
The magnetic switch will create a pulse anytime the magnet is within 1/2" from the magnetic reed switch. This can be commonly retrofitted to many mechanical releasers such as the float or other components that travel during the dump cycle.
