Do I need to activate my own SIM card or work with my cellular carrier to activate this device?  

Nope. No need to worry about SIM cards or any other aspect of cellular connectivity. The device already has a SIM and the SIM is already activated for use in Canada and USA. This cost is included in the yearly subscription.

How do I know if I have coverage?

See coverage map for details. Device uses a specific Cellular network communication allowing for longer range and improved reception over traditional cellular devices. If you are still unable to reliably connect, a full refund will be provided.

Do I need to download a mobile app from the  app store?

No, the device operates using a mobile friendly web page. This allows full access and control of your devices from either iPhone, Android, Computer or any other device with internet access and a web browser.  Simply save this page to your favorites and you have 24/7 access to your device.

How does the device monitor tank level?

The device uses a non-contact sonar sensor to read the level of the tank. It reads anywhere from 0-100%. This provides full visibility to current level at any point in time.

What currency are the prices do I see in the site?
All prices are in USD.

I just placed an order, when will it ship?

Due to the seasonal nature of the product the following is our expected shipping timeline based on the time of the season:

  • Offseason pre-order: (May - October): Shipped first week of November
  • Pre-season: (October - Jan): Shipped within 5-10 business days
  • Peak season: (Feb - April) Shipped within 1-3 business days. Reach out or check our website for daily updates on inventory availability and shipping times. 

Do you ship to Canada?

All orders are shipped via UPS (United States) and DHL, UPS or USPS (Canada). Canadian deliveries will be subjected to an additional import duty based on the carrier chosen. We do provide an USMCA certificate of origin as well as the necessary customs paperwork for smooth import into Canada. 

Will I receive a tracking number?:

Once the order is shipped, an email will be sent with the tracking number so you can track it every step of the way! Please understand packages may be faced with delays beyond our control such as customs or postal delays.


Returns & Warrantee:

What if it doesn't connect or if I don't like it? Can I return it? 

All Sap Spy devices are shipped "active" and ready to connect. We encourage you to bring it to your sugarbush shortly after receiving it to confirm it will connect to a cell tower as expected. If for whatever reason it does not connect where it needs to, a full refund will be provided. 

What is your return policy: 

Sap Spy is here to help make your sugaring operation easier, more profitable, and less stressful by always allowing you to know the status of your sugarbush. If Sap Spy did not meet or exceed your expectations during the first maple season in use, we will provide 100% refund. Due to the seasonality of Maple Sugaring, all returns or refund requests must be made by May 1st following the date of purchase. This is true weather you purchased in June of the prior year or March in the middle of the Maple season. 
Why such a lenient refund policy you might ask? From our own experience as well as testimonials from our customers, we know once you use Sap Spy, you'll wonder how you ever sugared without it. And besides, as a fellow Maple Syrup producer, this is the type of refund policy we would expect ourselves.
